The Best and Worst Films of 1997

From all the years in the 90's, 1997 was probably the biggest downer. Not having many films that went to that higher echelon of innovative film-making, either through the magic of special effects, or even through the methods of incredible and distinct storytelling. It was mostly a plain year, with many good films still that could be named. But none whatsoever that could be called one of finest moments in the genre or a leap forward for cinema and maybe even a masterpiece.
