The Best Films of the 1960's

The 60's were a peculiar decade, as it was the start of many great things in cinema, but also the downfall of others. We had the start of the psychological and gore horror genre with films like "Psycho" & "Night of the Living Dead". Sadly came also the death of the over-saturated western genre.

This decade was also no stranger to having some of the greatest masters of cinema at work. Such names as Hitchcock, Fellini and Kubrick offered not only a great amount of entertainment, but also innovation, thought provoking material and introspective views on people's mindsets, secret wishes and fears.

Lastly, lets not forget that possibly the best plot twist, visual effects, civil rights message and political commentary ever all happened within this decade. Which means, it's not only important to know of all these films, but also to see them. Enjoy!

honorable mentions in alphabetical order:

P.S. As always this a ever-evolving list. I haven't seen all the films of the 1960's and there are many more I still wish to see. So even if some are not on the list, that dosen't mean they wont be later or that they don't deserve to be.
