Whoever doesn't know who Gal Gadot is. She played the attractive Israeli Mossad agent and international criminal Giselle in the "Fast and Furious" franchise. She also had a couple more bit roles in some other movie productions. In essence her whole repertoire has been to be pretty and sexy. Also to say cute and sexy things when needed. Never had she had a real requirement to show off her acting skills or be considered a serious screen presence.
So with the news that she has been cast as "Wonder Woman" in the new "Batman Vs. Superman" and naturally continue on with her own "Wonder Woman" and "JLA" films. I wonder if she indeed has the chops to handle such big roles and if this is another possible miscasting on part of the DC movies. I won't say she is a terrible actress, but she hasn't really proved she is of high caliber, nor has any filmmaker of any regard spoken highly of her and she hasn't ever attempted to play in one independent film production. Making me feel immediately that her casting as "Wonder Woman" was more of an aesthetic choice than anything else.
Zack Snyder's statement on the casting:
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."
