Gene Wilder passes away at the age of 83

After complications from Alzheimer’s disease Gene Wilder died on Monday at the age of 83. He was one those actors that with a natural calmness could transition his voice and emotional performance for the comedic or dramatic effect in a film and had a flamboyance and high octane energy that is rarely seen today.

Most will remember him for his performances with Richard Pryor on the big screen, but most especially for his Mel Brooks collaborations in 'Young Frankenstein' and 'Blazing Saddles' but also finally for his standout performance as the secluded candy master Willy Wonka.

He is survived by his wife Karen Boyer and his nephew.
