Weekend U.S. Box Office February 16-18, 2018

We all foresaw a big opening for 'Black Panther', but no one thought it had the potential to almost become Marvel's highest grossing opening box office weekend film. A record narrowly missed by around 17 million, with the first 'Avengers' film still being number one until 'Infinity War' comes out (link). Nonetheless, its still an amazing opening for a good film and a continuing statement regarding lesser known comic book characters and how they can make also a lot of money at the box office with a little Marvel branding and quality control tagged to it.
