As great as Ant-Man's opening was last weekend and the topping of its first film's opening box office, it has now plummeted in its second week by around 62% (source). Which indicates two things, that its possible it won't even reach its film's overall earnings in the U.S. and that this wasn't a great sign for Marvel in general for a number of reasons, adding to it the fact that it could't hold the top spot to the 2nd sequel of the 'Hotel Transylvania' series.
Besides that, this weekend there was also the Rock's new film called 'Skyscraper', which funny enough was the most original film out of the three. But, also newsflash wasn't able to reach any box office height compared to them. As star power alone isn't enough nowadays and audiences may like dumb entertainment, but maybe not when its trying to take itself so seriously.
