Weekend U.S. Box Office July 6-8, 2018

Ant-Man may not be the biggest Marvel superhero, but he is still loved enough to get a sequel and a greater following than the first time around. This series is also the most family friendly next to Spider-Man of all the Marvel films, something that should be a focus for Marvel in order make their properties more diverse and accessible to a wider audience.

The rest of the pack in the U.S. box office continued to make money with the 'Incredibles 2' surpassing 'Jurassic World' easily in position in the top ten, but also in total box office sales. The other big film of the week 'The First Purge' made also a decent amount of money for its small budget and maybe is now or will be the new 'Saw' film of this decade, with countless of cheap sequels to come and with a trusted audience that will see them again and again despite their repetitive nature.
